Covid-19 procedures

Covid-19 and Conifers Nursing Home

During the Covid-19 pandemic, maintaining a safe environment for our residents and staff is at the core of our care and nursing services. We have implemented the following procedures to keep your loved one safe.

Covid-19 Infection Prevention and Control

At the entry to the home we have displayed clear guidance and explanation about the restrictions; along with a heartfelt apology for the inconvenience caused to visitors while we try our best to minimise the stress felt by residents.

The Conifers has a pre-booking system with 10 appointments available throughout the day and a scheduled deep cleaning is processed between each visit.

All visitors must undergo a lateral flow test and temperature checks are undertaken.

Hand sanitiser is freely available and PPE stocks are plenty.

Dedicated visitor room

To maintain maximum safety we have dedicated a room that is close to an entrance provided for visiting relatives.

We also support visiting through a purpose-built pod and window visits. To assist communications we provide baby monitors during visits.

There is also a gazebo which provides shelter to relatives during window visits.

We do our utmost to support relatives in visiting their loved ones at the end of their life.

Infection prevention and control

During this difficult time frequent cleaning is scheduled and our manager ensures all staff are well educated about infection prevention and control with regular checks undertaken.
